The typical drying time is 4-6 hours. However, this depends on if we had to flush a specific area due to a saturated spot.  If this is the case, it could take up to 12 hours to dry.  With our direct drive cleaning machine, we are able to capture the most vacuum available in order to get carpets dry quickly.

Pet stains and odor are a very common problem. At Salisbury Rug & Carpet Cleaning we can help you deal with your pet challenges. From minor problems to major headaches Salisbury Rug & Carpet Cleaning can help you find the right solution.

The problem with pet odor is that it can be much deeper than it appears on the surface.  Pet urine can easily soak through the backing of the carpet down to the padding.  In more severe cases the urine can penetrate into the sub-floor beneath the padding. This creates a multi-layered problem.

Pet urine provides the growth of bacteria with will contribute to the worsening of the odor problem. This can also cause permanent color loss of the carpet fibers.

To eliminate this problem the urine needs be removed or neutralized from each of the layers effected. If the contamination is limited to only the face yarn of the carpet then the cleaning itself may effectively remove the odor. In more severe cases a urine neutralizer may be applied.

In the most severe cases, replacement of the carpet padding, treatment of the under-side of the carpet and the sub-floor may be required. Even replacement of the carpet, however, cannot guarantee complete removal of the odor.

Left untreated over a period of time pet odor can become absorbed into many of the porous materials in your home. Draperies, sheet rock, upholstered furniture, base-boards, even the concrete foundation are just a few of the materials that can absorb these odors.

At Salisbury Rug & Carpet Cleaning we offer a range of solutions to help you with your pet odor problems. We all love our pets and want to keep them a part of our family.  At Salisbury Rug & Carpet Cleaning we can help you meet those challenges.

If you have light colored carpet, you might have experienced these dark lines that appear on the edges of your carpet against the baseboard. This soiling is called “filtration soiling”.  It occurs from air passing through the carpet as it is attempting to get through the crack between the carpet and the baseboard or under a closed door. As the air passes through the edge of the carpet pile, this microscopic soiling is deposited there (hence the term filtration soiling). This occurs over a significant period of time and is not noticed until a build-up has occurred.

This type of soiling is difficult to remove because the soil particles are so fine that they penetrate deep into the carpet pile, sometimes into the backing of the carpet. Can it be removed? Sometimes. With special products, time and effort, reasonable results can sometimes be achieved. To help prevent filtration soiling, vacuum and wipe the edges of the carpeting on a regular basis. Be careful around the tack-strip on the edge of the carpeting, it could nick your fingers!

The only additional cost incurred for moving furniture is due to the increase in square foot cleaned.  There is no additional fee separate from the cleaning costs to move furniture.

The typical turn around time for rug cleaning is 1 week from the day of pick-up.  However, if the rug contains moderate to severe urine saturation, it could take up to 2 weeks from the day of pick-up.

Yes, in fact, we highly recommend fiber protectant for all carpet and rugs.  Carpet and rugs gone unprotected for too long can be prone to fiber damage.  This damage can come in the visual form of light to heavy dark areas where foot traffic is heaviest.

Most major carpet manufacturers recommend truck-mounted hot water extraction as the preferred method. In fact, specific to Stain master carpet, they require hot water extraction cleaning every 18 months to maintain the carpets warranty.  Hot-water extraction done properly by a trained technician removes more soil and spots than dry cleaning methods.
